I was alerted to this by an e-mail from the Chester County 912 group. Buried deep in the text of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, we find section 5210 establishing a Ready Reserve Corps, ostensibly intended to respond to national emergencies and public health crises. I’m no lawyer, but it sure looks to me like President Obama’s civilian national security force has been included in the health care take-over legislation.
Sec. 5210, page 1312, “Establishing a Ready Reserve Corps”
..(a) ESTABLISHMENT..
19 ..(1) IN GENERAL..There shall be in the Service
20 a commissioned Regular Corps and a Ready Reserve
21 Corps for service in time of national emergency.
Note that it says “national emergency”, not “national health emergency”, which point is reinforced by page 1314, where it says,
15 ..(B) be available and ready for involuntary
16 calls to active duty during national emergencies
17 and public health crises, similar to the uni-
18 formed service reserve personnel;
That’s “national emergencies” -AND- “public health crises”, so the conceivable claim that this is nothing to worry about because it is just a public health response force seems to be incorrect.
Even if you supported the health care takeover, is this what you thought you were supporting? What does it take to make you start considering the idea that they just might be lying to you? If this is solely a health care response force, where does the congress find the Constitutional authority at all? If, as it seems, it is broader in scope, does it usurp powers reserved for the state militia?
